Hooray!!! Hooray!!! Hooray!!!
The Cade Museum has officially opened in Gainesville, FL.
Probably one of the most exciting things to happen in East Gainesville in many years... the Cade Museum has official opened to the public.
The Museum is located at the beautiful "Central Park of Gainesville, FL," Depot Park. Not only is the architecture stunning, modern, innovative, grand, and much more, but the exhibits are kid-centric and designed to promote learning about science and inventions. If you anticipate being a regular visitor, I highly recommend purchasing a membership so that all visits are included in the membership price.
We visited the museum on opening day, and they had a robot zoo (very very neat), science demonstrations given by Miss Patty, sautering of metal to glass, printing press demonstrations, and so much more!
They had plenty of fun food trucks available as well- Cilantro Tacos (Yummmmmmmmm!!), Mayflower Cellars (also super yummy!), and Endless Summer Ice Cream (kids will love watching it being made- it's made right in front of your eyes out of fresh ingredients and nitrogen!), Pops Brick Oven Pizza (another Yum!), and LEJ Pretzel Company (hot and delicious soft pretzels).
After visiting the Museum you can wander around the beautiful Depot Park, which also connects to the 30 mile round-trip Hawthorne Trail.
If you need lodging in Gainesville, I have 36 short-term rental properties (hotel- alternatives with dining, kitchen, living and bedrooms- all linens, wifi, electric and more included). www.socogainesvillerentals.com.
